Companies rely heavily on business data and information stored in DB2 for z/OS. Not having access to this data, even for a short period of time, can be a disaster for the existence of your company...

But Murphy comes around – goes around...Hardware breaks. Mistakes happen. Change is a constant in the IT arena. It’s important enough to protect and safeguard data. A backup plan is part of our development process, not an afterthought. We all have a mature process on how often you should back up your database objects, where to store these backups and so on. Ever wondered how long the recovery of an object, an application might take and whether it still obeys your  SLA’s ? How reliable are your Recovery Time Objectives?  Are your procedures adjusted to new possibilities of recent DB2 versions?

It’s GSE’s task and duty to share experiences with the DB2 community.

We are very happy to have colleagues presenting and sharing their expertise and knowledge on DB2 Backup and Recovery strategies and procedures.

IBM will also inform you about the latest enhancements and improvements in DB2 V9 and V10.

An open discussion afterwards may be the trigger for a backup and recovery health-check in your shop.

Since GSE is the pulse rate of the DB2 and IMS community, we invite you to take a few minutes of your time and specify your needs and interests for the upcoming DB2 – IMS events. The results will be presented at the event.

So, don’t miss this great opportunity to learn from your peers, share your findings and go home enriched. If you are interested in any of the subjects above, please join us at the next GSE event that will take place Thursday March 3rd, This event will be hosted by SD Worx and sposored by BMC Software.
