13:00 - 14:00 hr         Welcome, registration and coffee.

14:00 - 14:10 hr         Introduction by Chairman Dirk De Schutter (DTS).

14:10 - 15:10 hr         Session 1 - 'CICS and CICS Tools futures and direction' by Peter Siddell (IBM).      

This session will outline where CICS and the CICS Tools are in 2012, and will illustrate the latest features and functionality of the CICS Portfolio: New System Events, Java, Connectivity, Management, Scalability and many more ...

15:10 - 15:30 hr         Coffee Break.

15:30 - 16:30 hr         Session 2 - User presentation - 'CICS Web Service Implementation at Colruyt' by Lieven Haesaert (Colruyt).      

After a short introduction to the Colruyt Group and our IT infrastructure, the presentation will focus on how web services in CICS are used at Colruyt IT. Starting from the global requirements of a service oriented architecture and the introduction of other new technologies, we will show why the use of web services in CICS was unavoidable. We will point on how we have made use of the CICS web service assistant and the (dis)advantages we have experienced with the tools provided by IBM. Also, we will go further into detail on what we have done about some issues on the level of transport (HTTP, MQ), the level of security (WS-security), XML-based messaging and transactional control. At the end, results will be given of some tests we did about performance, offload to zIIP of XML system utilities and monitoring of web services in CICS.
